All Tulsa Yoga Therapy teachers are available for private sessions.  Please talk with your teacher about their approach.

The therapeutic value within the science and art of Yoga has been understood
for centuries and are available to anybody willing to practice.  An appropriate practice of Yoga brings ease to the body, calms the emotions and stills the mind, regardless of disease or condition.  The important thing is to make a commitment to start and with patience and compassion move forward to an expanded sense of health and vitality.

Personal sessions begin with a conversation about what you want from a Yoga
practice and what seems to be hindering that goal.  We may then observe current postural and breathing patterns, joint range of motion, alignment and muscle strength. Other factors such as work habits, attitude, emotional stressors and current pain levels can also be relevant.

Having found an appropriate starting point and with your personal goals in mind we can explore the practice of Yoga as therapy.  Finding the place to start, that is safe and reflective of the direction that you want to go, is the goal of Personal Yoga Therapy sessions.  Practicing mindfulness, breathing techniques,

movements and poses transforms old habitual patterns into new ones that better serve you. Tailoring a Therapeutic Yoga practice that fits your unique needs restores balance and is a wonderful path toward increased physical, mental and emotional well being.

Goals could include:
*  Healing imbalances within the musculoskeletal system
*  Improving posture and breath awareness leading to increased vitality
*  Increasing strength, flexibility and ease in body and mind
*  Breaking old thought patterns that increase suffering
*  Learning skills to release anxiety and reduce panic attacks
*  Increasing self esteem, confidence and trust in self
*  Gaining tools to better cope with emotional issues
*  Minimizing the effects of chronic conditions.

In regard to chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, asthma, anxiety, M.S.
Parkinsons, cancer, scoliosis, emphysema, arthritis and others; These conditions are deeply entrenched, however, an appropriate practice of Yoga can be immensely helpful in maintaining a healthy outlook, managing your energy level, alleviating fear, reducing certain symptoms and dealing with emotional stress.
